What is the Speakers Bureau?

The Speakers Bureau provides assistance identifying speakers with expertise in child survival and health. The bureau serves as a resource for public health professionals, academic and community groups, policy makers, the media and others seeking qualified speakers on this topic.

Why join the Speakers Bureau?

By joining the Speakers Bureau, you can help educate audiences about the importance of child survival. Speakers may be called up to:

  • Offer expert testimony to congressional committees or policy groups;
  • Introduce new audiences, such as student or community groups, to the importance of child survival programs;
  • Solicit new Coalition members by presenting at conferences and events;
  • Present organizational activities;
  • Act as a resource to the media.

How does the Speakers Bureau operate?

Child survival experts volunteer their time and talents to the Speakers Bureau. Participants are asked to indicate their area(s) of expertise and topic(s), audience preferences and willingness to travel. Upon registering with the Speakers Bureau, participants receive information including Coalition talking points and key messages, the Coalition PowerPoint presentation template and the Coalition brochure.

Speaker bios will be listed on the Coalition website. Contact information is not provided; Coalition staff serve as the liaison between speakers and the host organizations.

Except in special cases, all speaker expenses, including travel, accommodations and meals, are the responsibility of the host group.
